Travis’ Adoption Story

When this family began searching for a new furry friend, their hearts were still heavy from loss. They had recently said goodbye to their beloved young pitbull mix, and their chihuahua, Dennis, seemed to feel the absence just as deeply. While they weren’t ready to welcome another dog quite yet, they hoped to find a companion who could bring comfort — to both Dennis and the rest of their family.

As we were looking over adoption ads, we were drawn to Travis — the little orange menace with extra toes. We met him and knew he was ours.

From his very first night home, Travis fit right in. He refused to be apart from his new siblings and quickly claimed every lap within reach — human, feline, and canine alike.

He jumped into his humans’ (both adult and kids) laps looking for pets and purrs. He rough houses with Dennis and sits on the counter each morning waiting for whipped cream.

Now, this little polydactyl sweetheart has become a central part of their daily routine. Whether he’s wrestling with his dog brother, climbing his cat tree, or charming his way into an extra treat, Travis has brought laughter, comfort, and love back into their home.

Then & Now: From Rescue to Family

Before adoption:

I am a Polydactyl — check out my mits! Sweet, fun, playful, curious, and adventurous! I love to run, climb, and play with all kinds of toys.

Now:

Still playful and curious — but now with my forever family to love (and to share whipped cream with).

“He is our baby and has been the best addition we ever could’ve asked for. He has truly helped heal a piece of our hearts from our loss.”

Travis’s story is a reminder that sometimes the right companion arrives when you need them most — in this case, a tiny orange kitten with big paws and an even bigger heart.
