Who We Are

We are a fully volunteer-run, foster-based rescue serving Minnesota with one purpose: to bring hope — and a second chance — to dogs and cats who have nowhere else to turn.

Our work begins in overcrowded local shelters, where animals face overwhelming odds, and continues in reservation communities where resources for pets are scarce.

We believe every companion deserves kindness, healing, and a family that sees their worth.

Vision & Mission

Our Vision

We envision a world where every adoptable dog and cat has the opportunity to find a responsible, loving home — a world where no animal is mistreated, abandoned, or forgotten.

Our Mission

We save the lives of companion animals in need — including those who are homeless, abandoned, neglected, or at risk.

Through compassion, kindness, and care, we help them heal and thrive, ultimately becoming cherished family members in loving homes.

Why We Rescue

Why We Rescue

The Rescue Crew was founded to fill a critical gap in Minnesota: helping shelter animals who face euthanasia simply because they have nowhere to go.

Every year in the U.S., approximately 5.8 million dogs and cats enter shelters. While many find homes, far too many never get the chance — resulting in over 600,000 adoptable dogs and cats being euthanized annually.

Over 1,600 pets lost every day!

In some municipal shelters, animals may be euthanized after just 5–7 days if not reclaimed or rescued. That’s why we act quickly: partnering with local shelters to save as many lives as possible and give each animal the time, care, and dignity they deserve.

Show Compassion and Respect

Kindness in Every Action

We treat every animal, person, and partner with care and dignity. Compassion guides every decision and interaction, helping us serve both the animals in our care and the community that supports them.

Commit to Proper Placement

Right Pet, Right Home

We take the time to understand each animal and each adopter. By matching pets with families based on needs, temperament, and lifestyle, we set the stage for lifelong, successful adoptions into forever homes.

The Rescue Crew is a foster-based, volunteer-operated rescue. This means most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes — not at a central facility.

We do, however, operate The PURRfect Match cat adoption center, where some of our adoptable cats reside and can be visited during open hours.

The best way to reach us is by email. Our team monitors messages regularly and strives to respond as promptly as possible — please allow up to 48 hours for a reply.
