Our Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program gives you the chance to welcome a dog or cat into your home and see if they’re the perfect fit before making the commitment to adopt. It’s a wonderful way to help an animal in need while giving your family time to make a thoughtful, loving decision

The FTA experience lets pets decompress, show their true personalities, and start building trust — helping ensure lasting, happy matches. It also gives you priority access to certain pets, so you won’t miss out on the type of companion you’ve been hoping for.

Who’s eligible for Foster-to-Adopt?

Foster-to-Adopt pets are often adult or senior animals, long-term shelter residents, or those who need a little extra help finding their match — like big dogs, black cats, or bully-breed mixes. This program also prioritizes pets who are currently waiting at our partner shelters, in urgent need of a foster home so we can bring them into our care and give them a real chance at a new beginning.

Foster-to-Adopt Inquiry Form.

Your request will remain active for 12 months.

If the pet you’re interested in isn’t the right fit or has already been adopted, there’s no need to resubmit — simply email us at adoptions@rescuecrew.org to let us know which pet you’d like to meet next.

Because we are a 100% volunteer-run organization, processing may take up to a week — especially for requests submitted over a weekend or holiday. Once reviewed, we’ll connect you with the pet’s foster caregiver to answer questions and arrange a time to meet.
