Not Every Cat Wants a Lap — Just a Chance.
Offer them a life that fits their nature.
A New Chance at Life —
the Way They Prefer to Live It
Not every cat dreams of a life on the couch.
Some are happiest with a little more independence — roaming barns, warehouses, or outbuildings while keeping rodents in check. Our Barn & Business Cats Program gives these cats a safe and purposeful home while helping you protect your property.
By adopting a barn or business cat, you’re saving one of the most at-risk animals in shelters and giving them a life that suits their nature. It’s truly a win-win.
We’ll guide you through acclimating your new barn cats safely so they stay and thrive.
Who Qualifies as a Barn or Business Cat?
Cats in this program may be:
Social but too feisty for indoor living and happiest when they have a “job” to do.
Shy or fearful of people but comfortable around other cats or animals.
Cats with litterbox challenges that make them unsuitable as indoor companions (medical causes ruled out).
Every cat in this program is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and fully vetted before placement — reducing roaming, marking, and fighting behaviors. We only place cats in this program who are not suitable as household pets.
Adoption Fees
Adoption fees help us provide medical care and supplies prior to placement:
$30 for a single cat
$50 for a pair (when available)
If no barn or business cats are currently available, our team can help you find a suitable match.

Caring for Barn & Business Cats
These cats may be independent, but they still rely on you for basic care and safety.
Provide:
Shelter, food, water, and medical care. Barns, sheds, factories, and warehouses are ideal, but any safe structure works.
A safe start. Confine cats for 3–4 weeks in a secure space (such as a shed or large crate) so they acclimate before being released.
Companionship. Cats adjust best in pairs or groups — they’re more likely to stay put.
Routine. Talk to them, feed them consistently, and establish habits that build trust.
Protection. In rural areas, bring them indoors or secure them overnight to protect from predators.
